Kathryn Wilson

On Thursday I photographed the lovely Kathryn Wilson for 'Fairfax Newspapers'.
I really love these images and wanted to share them.
The brief was to show two shoes from her upcoming collection to be shown at NZ fashion week this year.
Ideally they wanted images of one shoe on each foot and a close up portrait shot. They also wanted the images to be fun and colourful.
Kathryn's studio is amazing and very well lit already. So I used mostly daylight with a bounce flash off the ceiling.
This is what how they came out.

Mermaid Images - Reveal Magazine Uk Edition

Photo Agency "Are you able to take photos of a mermaid?"

When the agency called to ask me if i wanted this photo job I was intrigued - A photo of a mermaid in New Zealand? This was going to be fun.

Meeting the mermaid called Nadya was wonderful. She's a very kind hearted and caring women.

This feature was printed in a UK magazine called 'Reveal Magazine'.

Photo Challenge

Recently a friend of mine on twitter organised a photo challenge.
The brief was called 'Shoot first, ask questions later!'.
The idea was a group of fellow photographers should all meet up in a cafe at midday and then we would be given a photography brief. From there we spend the afternoon taking photos and then meet back for a viewing of each others work later in the day.

We split into pairs and some people chose to work on their own.
I paired up with a fellow photography friend called Chantal Favier.
We then did a lucky dip to decide what area in Auckland each group or single person would get.
Chantal and I got Greenhithe,  Hobsonville and Whenupai.
The brief contain a list of fields like 1. Action photography 2. Architecture, 3. Landscape 4. Ask a random stranger to pose - female 5. Death 6. Emotion etc
From each of the list of fields you would need to take one image that represented the chosen theme.
Here's my favourite images from the day. I love the 'Life' image the best.

Ticket and Svelte

Recently I meet a lovely lady called Frances who's the wife of Paul Woolright the bass player from New Zealand 70s Band 'Ticket'.
They recently reformed after 37 years and played two shows in New Zealand.
One show was down in Christchurch and the other was in Auckland at 'The Kings Arms' on the 13th of November.

Frances got me very excited about seeing 'Ticket' play live and her love for their music is absolutely infectious. My mother also encouraged me to attend as she used to go see them play live years ago and recalled their long hair.

Added to this was my friend Jamie's band 'Svelte' was on support and I was keen to check them out as well. As usual if I am at a concert nowdays I can't help but pick up my camera.
